Thanks for the news Denny, It is amazing to know that for a location so new, we have already moved up to be reported as an attraction in close proximity to "Stone Willie - Funeral Home Dead Guy".

I too had the Kammback, but two years and 60,000 miles was all it lasted. Kept knocking off the oil drain plug on man hole covers... I enjoyed my 75 Scirocco, my 70 Datsun 240-Z and my 98 Ford Contour SVT for travel as well. Now I do most of my long distance driving in a 04 Acura TSX and it is very nicely mannered and a decent drive, but I wish it had a stick. And when I am just bopping around the back roads locally, nothing beats the 62 Triumph TR3B (I am sure there others that I would enjoy as much or even more, but that is what I have to play with). I do keep looking at the Caddy CTS for a replacement for the TSX when that day comes.

I am a volunteer docent, so I am getting in as much as possible to learn about the displays. It is truly a very professional museum, and well worth the stop when every you get to the Lehigh Valley. Welcome Peter, I have always thought about modeling the bridges of Connecticut's Merritt Parkway on my slot car layout, but doubt that any of them will make it. But I have always admired how it seems that each overpass is a different design. I found a few web sites which may be of help to you. http://www.past-inc.org/historic-bridges/m...kwybridges.html has some history and photos, while http://www.roadfan.com/merrittpage1.html shows photos of a number of the bridges, although some of the photography is poor. Just do a google search of "merritt parkway bridges". Good luck with the project. Let us know what prototypes you select to model and then let us see the finished results.

That is one of the good things about my Triumph...using a Massey-Ferguson tractor motor, I can visit any farm supply to pick up pats. But with many parts interchanging among the British cars of the period, and through car clubs, etc. parts are readily available for many vintage cars. Now, you may have problems getting a part for your Dymaxion, but I understand there are even parts available for Hudsons, Essexes, and Terraplanes.

Dave, The TR is still in the shop getting transmission work. Too long of a story, but too cold to do much of any driving, and the garage is now filled with baby stuff my daughter has collected for her coming first child. It means lots of clean up projects to be ready for the return of my toy in a few more weeks.

Jim, Welcome to the forum. I have been lax at keeping up to date here as of late due to other hobbies getting in the way, but auto restoration always gets my attention. I don't do much more than some interior work and detailing most of the time on my 1962 car. And road trips have not happened recently, although we are hoping to hit Albuquerque again when our son starts his next phase of training at Kirtland AFB. Most of our recent road trips have revolved around his AF career, but after Kirtland he will be going to Kadena in Okinawa. But keep us informed of your photo project, and your 62 Starfire you are working on now. Welcome.

A few months ago I saw an episode of Mythbusters on Discovery Channel where they tried a bunch of special things to prevent license plate cameras from getting the plate number. None of the paints or plastic covers worked, and the only time the camera could not get the plate number was when they were using it at a drag strip and trying to photograph the plate at three digit speeds. I would not recommend that method either.

Becky, Hopefully it can be set that visitors can view the photos but not rate or post comments. That way there are benefits of membership, but less of a chance of SPAM or other problems. It is a shame that these steps need to be taken, but in this wonderful world of cyberspace, spam happens.
