I traveled to Illinois in June. It was a quick business trip. But, I did have an opportunity to meet the great staff of the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition: Bonnie Heimbach (Executive Director) and two of her staff (Mary Jo and Sue). You may stop in and visit them at 200 South State Street; Belvidere, Illinois 61008. If you're traveling the Lincoln Highway in Illinois this summer, be sure to download their trip itinerary: http://www.americanroadmagazine.com/docs/itineraries/IllinoisLHCoalitionItinerary.pdf and visit their website: http://www.drivelincolnhighway.com/

Hi, We could do that. The other alternative is to create an additional forum for National Parks Highway. Would that be desirable? Best, Becky Repp becky@americanroadmagazine.com

Introduction
beckyrepp commented on Alex Burr - hester_nec's blog entry in Alex Burr - YankeeTraveller
Great post Alex. I love the part about driving the family farm equipment. I can relate. I learned to drive on my grandfather's tractor (they had a dairy farm). What an adventure to experience, and at 15! Looking forward to reading more of your posts. Becky -
Yup! There are blogs. They 'officially' started with the launch of the new website. Feel free to create your own travel blog. I need to improve at posting all my trips. This year is just flying by... Best, Becky

Yes, Denny, we heard the sad news today. We received some phone calls about it. Very upsetting. The Riviera was a classic. -
I Saw The Digital Edition Of American Road Magazine On An Ipad Today!
beckyrepp posted a blog entry in Becky Repp's Blog
It looked good. Previous readers were built for mostly text-heavy publications (newspapers, etc.). The image quality on the IPad, however, looked very good. No formatting problems to speak of. So, for those of you with an IPad, the digital edition of American Road is available! Preview the digital edition here: http://americanroadmagazine.com/previewmag.html -
Hi Gang, Great minds must think alike! We actually have started to attempt to map some of the index. Its taking a bit of time to figure out how to do it... Perhaps when we have a working sample a few of you would be willing to try it out and give us some feedback on it. More to come! Becky

Hi Denny, Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. Pat checked into it, and I think he replied to you, that there aren't any settings that were changed that would affect this. After looking into this further, it looks as if this was a result of the recent upgrade that we were advised to do by Invision PB. I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. The upgrade was primarily done to enhance security in Invision PB to prevent spam, etc. We appreciate everyone's understanding. Best, Becky Repp becky@americanroadmagazine.com 1-877-285-5434 x1

I was trying to simplify and use those only designated as 'National Parks." The next question should be how many NPS administered sites have you visited (the all inclusive definition with National Monuments, National Historic Sites, etc.). Its going to take me a little while to figure out how many I've visited myself... 1, 2, 3, 4..... (I'll let you know when I've finished counting). We're looking forward to seeing everyone's answers!

Thanks for posting about this topic Pa.t and Denny In honor of National Park week, we posted a poll. We would be interested in learning how many National Parks you have visited. We also encourage you to share which parks you enjoyed most and why. We included a trivia question about the National Parks, too, just for a little fun. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Eric, Are you going to be traveling through West Wendover? If you haven't, seeing Wendover Will is worth the side trip! Best, Becky -
Old Hwy 6 & 50 East To Delta, Ut?
beckyrepp replied to sit properly's topic in Lincoln Highway / U.S. 30 / U.S. 50
Hi Eric, Your trip sounds really great. I apologize for the tardiness of my reply. When we get into the last month of production for the upcoming issue of American Road I find myself barely having time to breath. So, now, I'm catching up a bit. Anyway, I don't know if anyone answered your question re: the station at the state line (between Utah and Nevada). But, yes, there is one there. There's some history about the place, and about US 50 through Nevada in one of our back issues of American Road. Specifically, it was Volume II, #3. Its a good place to stop for a beverage, etc. I've traveled the stretch between Delta and Ely, there are no services until you hit the state line. We passed one car and one hiker. I recommend bringing water and snacks. I also highly recommend starting the trip with a full tank of gas. Its a long walk if you run out. Not sure how cell service is out there either. You might want to contact the Chamber of Commerce in Ely, NV (The White Pine Chamber). http://www.whitepinechamber.com/. Ask for Evie (send her my best!). I'll see if I can wrangle up some resources for you for US Highway 6. Best, Becky -
Sounds like a great place. Let us know when you try the chili.
