  1. I agree, very disappointing that people would do something like that! Glad you enjoyed the article, it's an interesting website.
  2. Hi mga707, Thank you for posting the photos and info about the Gillespie Dam Bridge. This is something we may want to include in an upcoming issue of American Road magazine. Curious about your comment, "It looks like there are places for interpretive signs in two places, but they have not as of yet been installed." I did a little research and came across this: There was interpretive signage placed at the bridge during the 2011-2012 bridge rehabilitation project. However it has since been stolen. The text that appeared on the interpretive plaques and photos can be found at: Next Exit History, http://www.nextexithistory.com/explore/historical-sites/historic-gillespie-dam-bridge/

  4. Hi Dave, Thank you so much for sharing the interesting history on the Cajon Pass area in California! Many of us do try to imagine what travel was like in the early days of travel when roadways were newly paved. The excerpt from your 1921 travel book certainly provides something to get our imaginations going. Thanks again, Sue Communications Director American Road Magazine

  8. Well you are giving us a good education on music! Your description of night traveling music is very intriguing—the "Motorcycle Cop" by Power Glove is something we need to look up and listen to. Thanks!

  10. American Road magazine wants your help! We want to put together the ultimate road trip playlist! What are the “must have” songs for your road trip? Feel free say why too. We can start it off with: “I’ve Been Everywhere” - by Johnny Cash This gets a vote from us because of all the places named in the song! The upbeat tune is great for driving too!
