Redcliffe Plantation welcomes Chef Kevin Mitchell, author of “From Black Hands to White Mouths” on Feb. 29 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Visitor admission: $10 for adults, $8 for SC Seniors, and $3 for kids.
The Chef of the Culinary Institute of Charleston gives a special presentation. He earned his Master’s at the University of Mississippi in Southern Studies. While, focusing on Southern Foodways and the historical tradition of African-Americans in the culinary arts.
Chef Mitchell presents, “From Black Hands to White Mouths,” his research on the lives of the free and enslaved African-American cooks of Charleston.
