This photo is from 1934. It was the summer before my mom graduated from Allentown High School. She traveled extensively as a girl, having been to all 48 states and Alaska by the time she graduated from college at age 20. This, of course, shows Mount Rushmore.

Your mom's looking good and her travel record is remarkable but it's lonesome George on the mountain that really caught my eye. I don't believe I've ever seen a similar picture. Very cool.

Thanks Denny...that is amazing to me too. It is one of my favorite travel photos from Mom's past. Yet a Facebook Friend also has a photo of relatives with just George on Mount Rushmore. It made us wonder how close they were to being there the same time. We will never know.
