From the album: Bowl Plaza
The project is finished and ready for the First Flush, Sat. June 2, 2012. The art work began in 2008 with a dream and an artists conception. Thousands of hours and the help of dozens of artisans and thousands of donated objects have made the dream come true for the Grassroots Museum and its fans all over the world. Congratulations Rosslyn Schultz and company. -
American Road Trip Talk (podcast)- Rosslyn Schultz:First Flush Click here to listen... Click here to download… For the last two years we have followed the progress of one of the most eccentric art projects on the American Road: Bowl Plaza in Lucas, KS. And now the moment of truth has arrived: June 2, 2012 The First Flush. We met Rosslyn Schultz, the curator of the Grassroots Museum in Lucas, back in 2010. At that point she was midway through the construction of Bowl Plaza, a public restroom/ art project behind the museum built in the shape of an actual toilet. You really need see the photo album on the Grassroots Museum website to appreciate the artwork involved here. While laughter may be one of Rosslyn’s gifts, she and her fellow artists are deadly serious about this artsy outhouse, as you will hear in this interview. ************ Thanks to the Heritage Tractor Adventure for sponsoring this American Road TripTalk.
