Old US 36, Putnam County, Indiana

Just west of Groveland in Putnam County, US 36 curves to the right, but a narrow little road continues straight. The telephone poles follow the old road -- and a check of my 1937 Indiana road map shows something that looks like this segment, while my later maps show what looks like the current alignment. So even though this road is signed as a county road, I'm calling this Old US 36 and that's that.

All of this segment is very rural.
