That old gal has survived many floods but sooner or later the rip-rap around the supports in the river is going to play out and the old girl will go into the river. I don't guess anyone would dispute the fact a bridge with a curve in the middle of it was not the best idea, but I'd sure hate to see it go down. DennyG Posted June 20, 2008 Report Share Posted June 20, 2008 I didn't make it as far as the river yesterday but did stop in nearby Mitchell, IL, on my way to Litchfield. No one in the area seemed particularly concerned about the bridge and a group of 30-40 66ers, including, I believe, forum member RoadDog, will be driving accross it in a few hours.
