Kerouac's 'on The Road' Scroll To Journey To Indy

Finally, after a few years on the road for others to see, the original manuscript of Jack Kerouac's most famous work is slated to be at the Indianapolis Museum of Art from July 29 to Sept. 21.

 

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay purchased the "On the Road" manuscript at auction in New York City in 2001 for $2.4 million. Kerouac typed the novel on sheets of paper that he taped together, resulting in a 120-foot scroll.

If you're in the area, by all means check this out. I had the opportunity to view it a few years ago when it was on display at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. However, I don't recall the photo exhibit along with the upcoming tour, so I'll have a reason to check it out again.
