DennyG
This morning, Ron Warnick's Route 66 News reported that singer-songwriter John Stewart passed away on Saturday. Ron's report is here with links to additional information. John's fame came from his time in the Kingston Trio and a goodly amount of his money came from writing "Daydream Believer" for the Monkees. One of my favorite road CDs is his "Rough Sketches". It's a collection of Route 66 related songs and, although that "rough" in the title is deserved, the songs and the sound seem a perfect fit for some of those slow quiet two-lane sections. I've been to Cadillac Ranch three times and, while I've never actually done it, each walk across that field was with "Love to leave my name on an Eldorado rear" running through my mind.
