DennyG
The 20th Dublin Irish Festival was held this past weekend and, although I've heard much about it for a long time, I made my first visit on Sunday. The festival isn't necessarily a worthy topic here but I did have to get there and I didn't take the most direct route. I got within about ten miles of the festival on Friday night then spent all day Saturday running around the area before entering the gate on Sunday afternoon. There's a report here with plenty of bridges and gravesites on the first day and absolutely nothing road related on the second. Avoid the second day if you don't like red headed women and guys in skirts.
Keep the Show on the Road!
DennyG, Thanks for the great write ups! I'm glad you included the Irish festival. Having been to Ireland four times for the music, I can almost add the sound to your photos. Must have been as great as you say. While I prefer Guinness, Irish Stout is good as well! The Byways looked interesting, too. I mentioned to Sheila this morning that maybe this Fall is the time for a cross country trip. The forum has opened my eyes to the midwest. Ole Bo, the Malamute Wonder dog is our handicap right now, as a long trip would probably finish him off. We would probably want a couple of months, and we can’t leave before mid September....so maybe spring is better. Saddly the old fellow may be pushing up daisys by then, and we will not get another pooch! Gotta go, I’m leaving in the AM for the California - Banff Bee Line and some really early auto roads (actually wagon roads, but I don’t want to be off topic). Thanks again! I always enjoy your material, published or posted. Keep the Show on the Road!
