roadmaven
Just wondering, is there a Lincoln Highway guidebook out that covers Indiana? Specifically, a kind of guide that gives turn-by-turn driving instructions? I bought Brian Butko's "Greetings from the Lincoln Highway" last week, and it inspired me to explore the 1913 alignment from the IN-OH state line to South Bend. Any help would be greatly appreciated! DennyG
The Lincoln Highway Trading Post offers something on Indiana and Ohio ( http://www.lhtp.com/detail.asp?product_id=008 ) but the description is severely lacking in details. Anyone here familiar with either of these items? Yeah, I know you asked about Indiana but, by linking the Indiana & Ohio Map Packs, the LHTP has given me an opening to mention Mike Buettner's excellent Ohio Guide. The whole thing is available free on line at http://www.lincolnhighwayoh.com/preface.html or in hard copy or CD at http://www.lincolnhighwayoh.com/LHStore.html for very reasonable prices. This is something I've used and can definitely recommend. Now, to really stray from the original subject, I'm going to mention that Mike has done some really nice articles on other roads in Ohio that can be seen at http://www.lincolnhighwayoh.com/articles.html . Mike is currently president of the Ohio LH League and a very valuable resource for Ohio roadies. Ask about the LH in IN and get the CCC in OH. That's close, isn't it? ypsi-slim
Pat, If you have add older version of Delorme's US Street Atlas (vers. 9 or earliers) I have an overlay file that contains the complete Indiana routing. Let me know. ypsi-slim
DennyG
1) I wouldn't mind having that routing, if you're offering, and 2) older Delorme files can be imported into newer versions of Street Atlas. I actually have both SA9 and SA2006 currently installed and have moved a few routes from SA9 to SA2006. The reverse will not work. I imagine that SA2007 will do the same. Keep the Show on the Road!
I sure don't have that. The wife is rather fond of Streets & Trips. If Ypsi Slim offers a map, take him up on it. He knows his stuff. It is golden. As an aside, Streets and Trips works very well if you are mapping a delivery route and want to optimize the route for the shortest distance, delivery sequence, etc. But my personal experience gives Delorme’s products the edge for accuracy, and especially the edge outside the metro areas.
