Blue Ridge Parkway

Recommended Posts

Hi Arnold,

The Parkway runs right along my county border. I drive sections of it many times over the course of the year, including just to go up there at night and star gaze. I've driven the entire route once. The North Carolina and Virginia sections are very different, but both very beautiful.

I have driven it several times - but I think the best was the time, back around 1965, I drove it early, early in the morning - like starting at 6AM. No traffic, tons of local "residents" (4-legged kind) and so quiet and peaceful.

Welcome, Arnold!

I've been to Chimney Rock, but only as a kid. I need to get back there. The Blue Ridge Parkway is another one of the roads on my "some day" list....
