mobilene
I passed through a lot of little National Road towns in Ohio. Many of them were dilapidated and falling apart. Not Old Washington. It's what all those other towns wish they could be. Here's where it dead ends west of town. Dead end of NR west of Old Washington by mobilene, on Flickr
Keep the Show on the Road!
Jim, OMG (that's Oh, my goodness!) Those buildings are unbelievable. I like the wooden one most simply because it should not have survived so long. What is the story behind Washington, Ohio? I have to do a little web browsing. Double WOW! mga707
Another artifact that should not have survived so long is parked right next to the wooden building: An '80s Chevette, looking like new! One of the few still running. Definitely something about Washington!

A couple of them reminded me of similar style buildings we have around here and in western IL. mobilene
What's remarkable about Old Washington -- Chevettes notwithstanding -- is that there are so many buildings like this in at least serviceable condition. There was hardly anything but buildings like these in Old Washington!
