mobilene
Fellow Michigan Road fan Hoosier Reborn was out doing recon on the LH in Noble County, Indiana, near Ligonier, where he encountered a brick segment of the road left behind when a curve was straightened. It's interesting because it shows how a sharper curve was fashioned in brick. Hoosier Happenings - Follow the Lincoln brick road Map of site If you go to max zoom on the map, you can tell the road is brick. Thought this was cool. jim

Chris Rowland
If you go to max zoom on the map, you can tell the road is brick. In the aerial photo, I was somewhat surprised to see the other curve just southwest of the brick segment. I wonder if underneath all of what looks like the gravelled area just west of the current road there is still brick underneath. Maybe bring along a shovel and do some excavation? mobilene
I noticed that too, Chris. Looks to me like a double curve with a straightaway between was made a single smoother curve at some point. If I had to guess, I'd say that the brick was removed in that small southern section.
