  1. We've heard there are plans for events along the trail to celebrate the event. We'll work to let you know about events as we learn about them through the magazine, Forum, Facebook, Twitter, etc.. One group planning a YT festival in Hamlet, IN may be found here. They haven't unveiled any details - but they are having a planning meeting on Feb. 8.

If you know about any events, feel free to post them to our event submission form.

    Stay tuned for more info!

  2. Greetings!

  3. Greetings everyone!

We hope you are enjoying a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

Help Us Send Care Packages to Our Service Men and Women

Many of you may recall that in the past we sent gift packages filled with personal

care items, gifts, and copies of American Road magazine to members of our military

services serving overseas in harms way. This wonderful tradition started at the

suggestion of one of our loyal subscribers. Over the years the donations made by

American Road combined with donations made by our readers and advertisers resulted

in gifts for hundreds of people serving in our armed forces. We still continue

to receive phone calls and letters of thanks indicating that the gifts, letters,

and cards sent did much to boost the moral of the recipients.

Regardless of where you stand politically on war, we encourage you to help us send

packages demonstrating our appreciation for the great sacrifices made by our military

    men and women.

You may donate in one of three ways:

    Call 1-877-285-5434 x1

Send a donation via PayPal to becky@americanroadmagazine.com (specify that the donation

is for Military Holiday Care Packages).

    Send check or money order to American Road; c/o Military Holiday Care Packages;

PO Box 46519, Mount Clemens, MI 48046

Donations must be received by December 7 to allow time to purchase the care package

items, package, and ship them by December 11 for arrival by December 25.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and generosity.

    Sincerely,

    Becky Repp

  4. Hi Ed,

There are so many great places to visit where you are traveling! If you travel through London, Ontario on your way from Quebec to Detroit and happen to stay the night in the area you might want to pay a visit to the Mustang Drive-in theatre (in the Summer issue of American Road).

We'll look forward to hearing all about your travels!

    Best,

    Becky

  5. Foster (thanks!) posted some photos concerning the Jefferson Highway Association recently, which led me to do a web search for the organization. I hope their president (or Foster) will take the time to share the organization's plans and aspirations with us. It would generate some new members for them, and a great source of interest for us.

Keep the Show on the Road!

    Dave,

There is a short article in "Friends in the Fast Lane" in the Summer issue that tells a bit about the Jefferson Highway Association's plans. AND, Foster's new podcast has an interview with Mike Conlin, the new President of the Jefferson Highway Association. Mike talks about the plans of the new association. Click to visit theAmerican Road Trip Talk blog and hear the interview between Foster and Mike Conlin.
