  1. From the album: In the Loop: The Forgotten U.S. Routes Through Indianapolis

Old US 40/52/421: Mile post signifying the crossing of the National Road and the Michigan Road. The side of the marker on the National Road show "To: Washington DC, 580 Miles", and the Michigan Road side shows "To: Madison, Ind, 83 miles". Madison is the southern terminus of the Michigan Road, on the banks of the Ohio River.

Old US 52/136: Bush Stadium brick wall with ivy (Pic taken in January...not yet green!). The ivy here inspired the owners of Wrigley Field to add it to their walls. Victory Field/Bush Stadium was built in 1931 and was home to the Indianapolis Indians. Many of the greatest players to ever play baseball played on its field while on their way to the majors. A great photo of Bush prior to its closure can be found here: http://www.minorleagueballparks.com/bushnite.jpg

  15. OK, I'm convinced....I'll be there! I'm working on my reservations today. I called the Meramec to see if they had any openings, but they were full for September 9th, so I'll try the Stanton Motel. If Jane Dippel says the Stanton is OK, then that's as good as gold for me. In Litchfield, I'm going the cheapskate route and staying down the street for $20 less. But I'll be hanging out with everyone at the host hotel Friday night. Looking forward to it....haven't been on a Missouri Motor Tour since '01.
