  1. There's a passionate debate going on in Indianapolis pertaining to the old Michigan Road through Indianapolis. A group wants to rename a portion of it to Martin Luther King Jr Street, while other want to keep things the way they are. This is a common issue in several other cities that have also changed to MLK. The story is in the link:Michigan Road
  2. I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to spot me back there!
  3. Hi all....just posted some pics from a fall foliage trip we took in October into southern Indiana and Kentucky. It's in the Gallery and can be found here: Corvairs on the Road

  20. Alright, now I'm *really* ticked we got that extra 4" of snow on top of the 10" we already had on the ground last weekend. But, it looks like you had a swell time neverthenonetheless. I'm really looking forward to doing a Sweetheart Cruise, as I've heard about the legend of the Cruise for several years. Ahh, we'll see what kind of weather 2008 brings!
  21. For those of you interested in going, here is the URL for the Wigwam Village. Definitely worth a look: www.wigwamvillage.com So far it looks like we've got five confirmed vehicles for the weekend. Hope to see YOU there too.
  22. Just wondering, is there a Lincoln Highway guidebook out that covers Indiana? Specifically, a kind of guide that gives turn-by-turn driving instructions? I bought Brian Butko's "Greetings from the Lincoln Highway" last week, and it inspired me to explore the 1913 alignment from the IN-OH state line to South Bend. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  23. Fran, I fully expect a full cooler of hops & barley from you to keep our "spirits" high as you used to for everyone traveling Route 66 through Cuba. As a side note for everyone attending the cruise, as Denny mentioned, I'll be following the west alignment of the DH out of Indy on that Friday. Prior to the start of it, we'll be kicking off the drive at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis where we'll pay homage to the creator of the DH, Carl Fisher. What better way to start a DH journey than to remember the gent who got the whole thing started?
  24. Don't forget you can post images right here on the forum. Just click here for instructions: http://americanroadmagazine.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28
  25. Brian, So was the Lincoln still a good place to stay? I know it's one thing to lose a classic motel that's seen its better day, but to lose one that's still well-maintained and has good clientele is a tough one to lose.
