    Some wags say the camel is a horse designed by a committee. The same might be said for the Jefferson Highway! This long forgotten but now much cherished classic American highway once stretched from the pines of Manitoba, Canada to the sultry palms of New Orleans. Mike Conlin, a map maker by trade, is the president of the Jefferson Highway Association with a passion for reconnecting this legendary thoroughfare. The association’s inaugural meeting was chronicled in the spring issue 2011 of American Road Magazine.

    Vince Cricchio and his wife travelled the length of Route 66 from Chicago to Sta. Monica, CA with a film crew. The results will be a TV series slated for 2012 entitled "America Travels" that will focus on the towns they visited during the trip.

  20. Pretty Boy's Death Mask Updated

    Arthur (Pretty Boy) Floyd was one of America's most wanted men when he was cornered and killed by lawmen near E. Liverpool, Ohio on Oct. 22, 1934. He was transported to a local funeral home where he was put on display for crowds to see. A death mask was made by the proprietor of the funeral home and is now on display there. The big difference is that it is now a bed and breakfast.
