That is disturbing news about the financial situation. It's too bad they find themselves in that spot, and I sure hope they are able to figure out a way to solve it. I wonder, though, if they might have more visitors and a bigger draw/appeal (and, thus, less of a money issue) if they had placed it along a more "nostalgic" route, such as Route 66. Remember that feature of TVs a few years back where you could watch 2 shows at the same time with what was called "picture in picture"? Amongst taking pictures, snow shoveling, and a few other things done during the "Blizzard 2011 Snow Day" I had, Wednesday, February 2, 2011, I found myself watching old car ads online. ANAHEIM (CA) STADIUM I took these during a 1991 family road trip: I don't remember what the Angels did, but the Boston Red Sox lost to the Baltimore Orioles 7-3, and the Chicago Cubs beat the St Louis Cardinals 6-4: WRIGLEY FIELD, Chicago IL I took these at the "day before" festivities of the 1990 MLB All Star Game. The game itself, the next night, was rain-shortened. 3 RIVERS STADIUM, Pittsburgh PA I believe these were taken prior to the New York Mets / Pittsburgh Pirates 08/08/1988 night game. The Pirates won, 1-0, and scenes from the rain-canceled first-ever night game at Wrigley Field were shown on the JumboTron. FENWAY PARK, Boston MA I took these (and a few other) pictures of this famed baseball venue during my August 2010 road trip. I've posted pics of old roads (Route 66, the Lincoln Highway, etc.) and pictures of the "road ahead" from various trips and drives. But, one type of road I had not taken pictures of until December 18, 2010, is a BRAND NEW road. I'm not talking just new concrete/pavement ... I'm talking ... brand new ... as in NO pavement had been in that spot previously. That is great news, Dave! That should be a wonderful weekend at AOW. Not sure I'll be able to attend, but I'll be there in spirit. Dave, Yes, models can run into a lot of money. But, along with eBay, check CraigsList and such. You can (sometimes) find a great deal! Some cars are HotWheels/MatchBox variety ... and some buildings ... well, I'm not sure what scale they are exactly. The reason for the "not to scaleness" of my train set up ... is because of the limited HO scale cars/trucks available. At least, it had been limited; I haven't bought anything new for the train table in YEARS, so maybe a better selection of HO scale cars/trucks now exists, but when I was buying, it was rather limited. Wow.... Sorry you had that experience, Dave. In all of my yearly travels, I haven't had any run-ins with bed bugs. Course, most of the time ... with the exception of my Route 66 trip in 2009 ... I spend the evenings at homes of family and friends. Still, I've seen enough hotels that I'm glad I've been lucky enough to not have the "bed bug" experience. I am glad you shared that link ...
