Loardsburg on the Old spanish Trail and US 80. January 2007



There is something about old downtown Lordsburg I really like. First it is a classic "Front Street facing the rails" town, built when the railroad was king, and when travel along the Old Spanish Auto Trail was in full swing.

 

Note in the photo the 45 degree driveway through the building where the truck is parked. this is the classic design for the 1920's or early 1930's garage or service station. Typically the pumps were lined up near the corner post.
