Enjoy one of Aiken’s most beloved events, St. Thaddeus Home and Garden Tour. Visit the gracious “cottages” established by the Winter Colony in the South Boundary area and relive history. Complete the tour at the Tea Garden and Parlor of St. Thaddeus. Strawberry and Cream Tea will be served from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Also, shop the Heritage Market from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., featuring re-imagined antique linens and gifts.
The St. Thaddeus Home and Garden Tour began in Aiken in the 1960s. In the spring, the women of the St. Elizabeth’s Guild at St. Thaddeus toured the well-kept gardens of Aiken’s Winter Colony homes. One year later, St. Thaddeus created a tour of homes due to a late spring freeze killed the gardens. So, the Home and Garden Tour continued as an annual event. Later, the tour became biannual. Funds raised from the Home and Garden Tour have always been distributed to local outreach projects.
Historic downtown Aiken hosts the event that features six historic homes. Purchase tickets for the event online through the website or at the church office. Also, tickets available at 3 Monkeys on Laurens and Lamps, Shades, and Things on Silver Bluff.
In addition, tickets cost $40.
